Lake Placid, New York

Lake Placid is a favorite getaway spot for New Yorkers, and it’s just a five-hour drive from Manhattan. There are some great resorts and spas here, including the Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa, which is on Whiteface Mountain – a great place for skiing.
